For a whole month in Spring, HotHouse will play host to seven members of Western Australia’s ground-breaking performance-making collective The Last Great Hunt. This remarkable company is a small but powerful engine room of Australian theatrical innovation, experimenting playfully with form, genre and diverse subject matter.
In their own words: “We are creators, innovators, and above all else, explorers. Within each show, we hunt for new ideas and new ways of connecting with our expanding audience. We make a range of new and exciting theatre in a variety of forms and styles, including new writing, visual and physical theatre and interactive experiences. We strive to give our audience an engaging, challenging and moving night out at the theatre.”
During its residency, the Last Great Hunt will draw inspiration from our regional setting to develop a new work (giving us a sneak peek along the way), run workshops, and most importantly for our audiences – present three of its award-winning shows, It’s Dark Outside as part of our subscription season, and two add-ons – The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer for family audiences, and Fag/Stag.
The Last Great Hunt residents: Gita Bezard, Adriane Daff, Jeffrey Jay Fowler, Arielle Gray, Chris Isaacs, Katt Osborne, Tim Watts.
