Outposts is a pilot regional playwriting program, supported by the Jibb Foundation.

Twelve local writers were selected to participate in the initial Salon series led by playwright Lachlan Philpott in 2017. Four works were chosen through a submission process for intensive one-on-one dramaturgical development and showcasing in April 2018. These local writers are: Rachel McNamara, Brendan Hogan, Brian Le Marquand and Leisa Whyte.

These four emerging playwrights will be given the opportunity to workshop their plays for a week (9-13 April) with dramaturgs Campion Decent and Lachlan Philpot and director Rachel Chant.

Professional readings of 15 minutes of each work will be showcased in a work-in-progress event on the evening of Friday 13 April featuring local artists Kyle Walmsley and Kerryn Beatty and two Sydney based artists.
